I am upgrading to a Torque Master torque converter that stalls between 2800-3200 stall. I have been told that the B&M super cooler would be ideal and do the job for cooling. Any comments? Will this thing just bolt right in, or will I have to drill holes? If I want to mount a fan on it later, how hard would that be? How do I connect the cooler to the transmission? Any other suggestions? Thanks!
It is actuall prety simple to install. I used the mounting hardware and mounted the cooler using the screws in the skirt in front of the Radiator/ condenser...
It is a matter or rerouting your hoses from where your cooling lines enter to radiator to your cooler... As I recall it is the top line I pulled to feed the cooler and the return from the cooler connects back to the fitting you pulled loose at the top of the radiator...
top cooling line---- cooler ---- radiator---- trans---- top cooling line
The flow is reverse it actually flows through the radiator first...
I have the B&M supercooler. I ended up having to get some supplemental hose from NAPA, but overall, it was a piece of cake to install. And yes, it's a very good idea to preserve the life of your tranny!
you have email, I frew it out for you... It is very easy, maybe an hour, just make sure the hoses you get are fro a auto transmission as it does have some pressure behind it...
