Default UPDATE: Blower Motor Problem - Please Help !!!

I have a 90 vette, was out for a ride yesterday and the second time i stopped at a location and shut off the car i noticed the blower motor (inside the car ((heat/ac))) was stuck on high, turned the ignition back on and played with the fan selects (1,2,3, etc) and it remained on high, even with the key off and out of the ignition the blower remains running on high, the only way i was able to get it to turn off was to pop the hood and pull the 4 terminal wire plug off of the blower box.... what could be the problem, the part that confuses me is that it is still on even with the car off and the key out ???? please help me !!!

Sounds like the blower relay has welded itself closed. Try replacing it.

On my 85 it's on the firewall right under the blower motor housing. Easy enough to get at and only a $5 part.

In your original post you should have mentioned that you have the C68 Automatic Climate Control.

The C68 does not use a relay. If the fuse on the firewall is not blown, the Blower Control Module is probably bad.

The module is located on the top/inside of the evaporator housing and held in place by some small bolts.

Remove the two electrical plugs, the small bolts and you can pull the Module out. Only takes 2 minutes to pull.

If the fuse on the firewall has blown the C68 defaults to full blower - check your fuse, it's happened a few times to me.

I am having the same problem with the auto hvac in my 91. the blower stays on constantly. I checked the fuse (5 amp) under the coolant tank on the firewall and it was good. Is there another fuse? Could my blower motor switch have gone bad?

the busted part was the 'blower control module', 3 bolts hold it to the top of the air box, 2 are two wire quick connects on the top of it and the bottom is a large heat sink... i found it for $40 at an online vette salvage.... dealer wanted $150
