Default Leaky Headers

There is nothing on a car that bugs me more than the the sound of leaky headers. I am going to be puting on TPIS headers this spring.I DO NOT! want to spend my saturdays pissing around with leaks.I am willing to buy the best gaskets, bolts or what ever it takes to insure thay DO NOT LEAK. The more opinions the better. Thanks

Percy's deadsoft aluminum. Never have had a leak with these gaskets on the engines I've used them on. Even if you do develope a leak, they won't burn through and you just have to tighten them up.

Not sure about the LT1/4 heads, but on my L98 I used 1 1/4" hex-head capscrews where I could get them in. Used blue locktight and lock washers as well. Haven't had a leak since the first heat cycle.

Good luck with yours.

You don't need exotic or expensive stuff. A good quality gasket and the longest bolt that won't bottom out will be fine. Make sure you check and snug them after each of the first half dozen heat cycles, or so, and you'll be set for life.

RACE ON!!!
