Default Wheel offset - early / late C4

If I change my 85 steering knuckle for an 88-later knuckle does my offset change? I don't know if the offset difference is in the knuckle or the bearing assembly.

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

the front bearings are interchangeable for all years (just loose ABS in the later ones!).

The offset would be changed by the knuckle and the suspension arms. I donno what changing the knuckle would do exactly.

No, it would involve changing out the suspension arms as well. the knuckle wouldnt fix it.

I believe the geometry of the later setup is different so the actual arm mounting points on the X member may be different as well.
