Default Whats are the steps for throttle cable adjustment?

Whats are the steps for throttle cable adjustment?

I just installed a 52mm BBK TB, and either I have the cable run wrong, or it needs to be adjusted to the new length, because I'm pretty sure its not opening all the way. In a couple of hours someone else will be home, and I can see if it is, but I'm pretty sure its not.

Does anyone have a picture of the proper TB cable route for a LT1/LT4?

My manual is somewhere in the mail, I hoped it was going to get here before today, but I still dont have it.

Thanks!

follow the cable away from the TB and there is a small black plastic box on the line probably 6 to 8 inches from the ASR box. There is a button on the small black plastic box and if you push this button in (it's hard) you can adjust the cable length and get it where you need it - you'll probably have to adjust it more than once. Let me know if this makes any sense

There is a small black plastic box that seems to connect the TB to the ASR, but thats only 1 maybe 1.5 inches from the ASR. When I follow the TB cable, I can't find a button anywhere else.

This isn't my car, but I highlighted what I'm talking about.

I can't seem to seperate the clips to open up what's in side it, if there is even something in there.

what you circled is the little box I was talking about, there is a little button on the side of it you can press in on to adjust the cable (don't take it apart)

sorry it took me so long to get back to you I just got my car out of the shop and was out driving it the last couple days and this has nothing to do with anything but it's a great pic of me tearing up my back tire last weekend

Looks sweeet Toy!

Thanks for getting back to me. I was assuming the button was covered by part of the plastic cover, but I guess I was looking at the button itself all along. It sure doesn't seem like a button!

You have to make sure the ASR stays aligned during the adjustment. I believe in the shop manual there is a detailed procedure. I seem to remember you need a 1/8" screw bit which goes thru a small hole in all the disks in the ASR unit and keeps them lined up correctly. I bought two bits becuase the first one broke when I was adjusting the disks.

I adjusted mine several times when I put on my new TB but I never touched the ASR. The ASR is working ok so maybe I just got lucky?

The service manual manual goes thru adjusting the ASR as part of adjusting the TB.
