Default Code Scanners

I have a '95 LT1. I want to purchase a code scanner, do I need to get OBD1 or OBD2? Or a unit that is capable of both? Any suggestions on brand and model? Thanks!

I believe 94 and 95 are obd1 with the obd2 style connector.
Check out these for a start.

Many vendors require that you select your vehicle make and model as part of the ordering process. This should greatly reduce your risk of getting the wrong scanner.

BTW, I believe the '95 would use an OBD-I scanner. Not sure about the connector. Suggest you check out -js-'s links.

In 1995 it was a OB1 with a OB11 connector. 1996 was the first year that the OB11 went operational.
