I had the heads rebuilt and we ported and polished these along with the intake. Put it all back together, and now as soon as it starts it wants to go full throttle on its own. There is no idle or any thing in between. Have tried to reset the position by turning on the key " USING NO CLUTCH" and flooring the accelerator. this made no change. Any idea's to start with?
You have a big'ol vacumn leak 'somewhere'. Could be one or both of the runners didn't pull up correctly when you reinstalled them.
Could be a vacumn hose not connected.
There's a vacumn leak somewhere. Get in there and find it.
Check your hoses, listen for a gigantic 'sucking' sound.
It's pretty easy to get leaks on these systems if you aren't used to working on them.
is there anything binding by the throttle?? also i had a problem like this when i changed my runners i forgot to tighten up the bottom row. so when i started the car the idle went way up.
The more I think abouut it. I think I already know where to look. Thanks for your input. I let you know the out come. It will be a couple of days before I can get back to it . MIke
I took the plenum apart and one of the gaskets on the lower end was ripped. Put in another and the car has never ran so good. Thanks for your help. Mike
