Suggestions for P0430 error
Catalyst Efficiency below Threshhold (bank2)
1996 LT1 automatic (ODB2) *edit* oops again
Anyone got some suggestions?
I would presume that it means one side of the exhaust (catalyst) not performing its function properly.
sometimes i go days to weeks before the code pops.
Sometimes it will pop 2-3 times in 30-45 mins
Normally its within the 1st 5-10 minutes of driving when it sets the code.
I had a bad fuel pump thats just been replaced (was leaking down pressure).
And i have to replace the EGR valve earlier... wasnt working at all.
I have ran a couple bottles of injector cleaner through it to try and make sure they were clean.
Now im wondering if maybe i have a leaking or sticking injector thats causing the problem. (its hard to start if its been sitting for more than 20-30 mintes, cranks 10-20 secs sometimes)

im still working on getting all the other little things in order.

My last Vette, coincidentally a 96 LT1 automatic, also had that code pop up... In my case it was a bad connection on the rear O2 sensor for that side...
The dealer replaced the cat at ~60K miles only to have the code pop up again afterward... I crawled around under the car to find that the O2 harness clip was broken and not maintaining a good connection... I swapped to another spare used O2 sensor and the code didn't return...
It might be worth a shot to take a look, but at the same time if you're experiencing a leaking injector(s), you could be seeing the beginning of a cat failure...
