Default Power door locks not workin after installing keyless security system...

First off, hello to this forum.. found it by accident while looking for corvette images for a personal project (you'll see a post about that in the near future).
Anyways~

I managed to pick up one ofthese security systems; one of the last ones apparently, as everywhere was out of stock, and I got the last one Corvette Clinin in San Jose had in stock.
I installed it this past weekend, after ripping out (not literally) the piece of junk Clifford system a previous owner had installed. The power locks still worked after removing this system. I installed the new system and somewhere along the line something happened, cause now neither of the power door switches work. The few relating to power (pretty much) everything inside did blow, but I replaced that and everything else on the same line as the power locks works. I tried bypassing the security system (reconnecting old lines and whatnot) and that did nothing. I'm a bit at a loss, if it's as simple as replacing one or both of the door lock switches that'll be no problem though.
As far as the rest of the keyless entry setup, the security system itself, as well as the trunk release work. The system detects the doors opening (if it's armed), though currently the courtesy lights dont come on seeing as i found out the Courtesy Light Timer is MIA (another goof up from the previous owner it seems).
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide!

I can't tell you exactly what's wrong with your system but I found a resource that only deals with alarm and stereo installation. There is some great information on troubleshooting these types of problems.

did a bit of diggin about on that site, may of been lookin in the wrong areas but didnt find much..

anywho.. figured I'd bump this question back up with a question or two~

As far as the power door locks are concerned on an '86, what could possibly cause them not to work but still allow everything else on the same circuit / fuse to work (other than the obvious of busted switches)?
Along that line, could a short that blows the fuse that protects the line that those switches are on damage / destroy the switches and not fry everything else?

Havin' to dig this thread up to try and get some more help.
So I've checked the wiring and see nothing wrong with it...
I've completely removed the security system from the wiring harness and everything else still works fine...
I've replaced the switches (passenger side one was working only half the time before)...
I've made sure all the fuses are good...
Only thing I haven't messed with was the actuator... (is it possible for that to get fried by a short? I haven't seen anything that could cause one but it doesn't hurt to ask..)
I'm really scratchin' my head on this one...

FIXED!!!

I found a *large chunk* of wiring mess from the old security system the previous owner had installed... so i disconnected the battery, snipped out that section, connected the original wiring harness back together where it'd been spliced, hooked the battery back up and crossed my fingers.
Everything works now....
the doors lock and unlock when I press the respective buttons on the remote... they lock and unlock with the switches on the doors.. and they lock and unlock when i start and stop the car...
I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooo (etc) damn happy this took care of the problem, cause heaven knows how much money i could / would have dumped into this buying parts and replacements to try and fix the problem...
these lil smilies cannot communicate how releaved i am now that this is done with.. but they shall try their best to do so!
