'92 LT1 Knock Module Location

'92 LT1 Knock Module Location

I have recently upgraded my '92 to an LT4. I would like to install an LT4 Knock module but I am unable to find it's location. Hints and/or photos greatly appreciated.

If you did not replace the computer then yours may not be replaceable. On the PCM from 94-96 the module is a pluggable prom on the underrside of the computer. I don't know if yours is located the same on the 92 ECM.

To replace mine I unbolted the PCM, flipped the computer, and replaced the PROM. It is held in by two small screws.

It's by the washer tank if Im not mistaken. Howver a lt4 knock module will not be comaptible with your speed density system. It's a whole different creature. You can desensitze the attack rate in your prom to accomplish roughly the same effect.

The 92 has no stand alone knock module. It is also very unlikely that you are picking up any knock. You need to data log the car and see if it's actually costing you any performance before you worry about it.
