What are your tire recommendations? Keep in mind I am limited by tires available in 315/35R17's for the rear. THanks!

GY Eagle F1 GSD3's. They get great overall reviews. I like mine as well.

What kind of endurance are you getting out of the GSD3's? Also how do they handle in the rain?

Personally I'd get Michelins. You need to get 335's for the rear... but they are worth it.

All I have to say is that Kumho Ecsta 712's get out-of-round like a sonofabitch if they sit for a week or so.

Other than that they work fine. After they re-round .

I love mine. I have nothing bad to say about them.

I've had them only about a thousand miles and have not driven on them in the rain, so I can't comment about longevity or wet performance. However, all the ratings and reviews rate these as the best tires available for our C4s for wet traction.

The cheap 315 is the Sumitomo. I have no experience with em but I heard they are decent. If you want the best get Michelin, personally I stay away from Goodyears.

I did research, and it looks like the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires seem to be the best. I need tires too, rela soon, and these tires are what I'm getting.

Here's what I just bought...

'course they may not last long if you try and drive them on the street

For the street I have the BF Goodrich G-Force KD It's a noisy and somewhat rough tire (stiff sidewalls), but has excellent dry traction.

Good tires, but they seem to lack in straight line dry traction, or then maybe I have too much power......nothing to compare them to...only tire I have driven since my mods....

Default F1 steal withdrawl

I have been a Goodyear bigot until last Saturday. The F1 Steals were perfect and worth any price. However I got the last new one in the Pacific Northwest last June.
Goodyear told me that the HP ultra plus tires were just as good. It’s been 200 miles and I hate the HP ultra plus more and more every second I drive. I actually put emergency spare back on to get some of my cornering back but this is obviously not a acceptable long term solution.
Anyway I am hearing that the Eagle F1 GS D3 or the Michelin Pilot PS2 are the way I should go. However after this Ultra plus experience I am scared to look at another Goodyear. Has anyone gone from the F1 steal to either of these tires. Also I live in Seattle there is always a thin layer of mist on the road. Has anyone uses the PS2 in these conditions with positive or negative results?

I'm currently running those as well. But I'm wanting to go back to a longer lasting tire. One that will not sandblast my rear bumper. Its already damaged beyond buffing.

I am running the GS size tires, 315x35 in the back so I am limited to that also. I had the Michelin Pilot Sports and never again. Way too much money for average performance and only lasted 22,000 miles. I decided since the Michelins at the high end were not worth the money I would try the Sumitomos at the low end. I paid $126 each for the 315x35x17s Sumitomo HTRZII (Make sure it is the II the tread pattern is much better). A little unfair to compare them to the Michelins as these are new tires but so far they are OK. Driving in the rain is as good as the Michelins and not as good as the Firestone Firehawks.

If you want the best tire I would give the Goodyear GSD3s a shot, but if you want to save a bundle of money the Sumitomo's are a deal.

I pulled a couple 1.95 60 ft times last weekend, and the best I got with my 315 bfg's was a 2.1 (they were old though), I replaced them with 285's. Funny thing is the tires are nearly exactly the width. The rain traction would be as good as I could expect. I only have them on the rears now, for a few thousand miles with no noticable wear.
