Default Retired today......

Today is my last day as an Active member of the US Army. After 21 years in SOCOM, countless airborne jumps into places I never really enjoyed, I will hang up my guns and move onto something else. I will stand before my peers, fellow Veterans of Wars past and present and say my goodbyes.
But on this day I can’t help but think of those that will never have this chance. As a tribute to them I would like to pass on a web site dedicated to them.

www.thefinalrollcall.us

Here you will find brothers, sisters, fathers, wives, and a few of my close friends that have given all. So please take a few minutes and view the names and faces of these real heroes.

Proud to have served, Jeff

PS. now I have more time to work on my Vette

You guys Rock, Thank you. But never forget those we have lost, those others that have served, and those that will continue to protect

Jeff,

Thank you for 21 years of service. Be proud of serving your country. It is an honorable thing. Your country is proud of you and those that have served.

God bless,
John

Jeff,

Congratulations. I retired in '94 w/26 yrs all in SF. Good luck and have fun. I'm on my 6th vette, a '94 LT1 6spd. Still working for DOD (OSD org doing work for SOCOM) keeps me from spending the time I thought I would have. Note my MFFI #.

De Opresso Liber,
Carl

Jeff thank you for your service. I checked out the web site that you had linked. It was very sad to see so many men and women from our country passed away. I am not sure who could visit that site without getting a little upset.

That is great!!!
Retirement from the service is quite an accomplishment, I retired in 1998, (Army) and life has been really good. I don't have to go to a lot of places I don't want to anymore, I don't get wet, muddy, cold, hot, etc, unless I want to.
No early morning PT on those cold windy mornings, no weapons qual ranges in the pouring rain/freezing cold, no young Officers that have all the answers, and I even get paid better at my civillian job.
Once you adapt to this freedom that you have been defending most of your adult life you will really begin to enjoy life.

Glad to have you back and your a Vette driver. Saw way to many Rustangs at Ft.Bragg last week. Hope civilian life agrees with ya. Hoohaa wootwoot.

Thanks for your service. From one retired throttle jocky to one who jumped out of perfectly good airplanes, live long and be strong and stay active or you won't get all that retirement pay you earned.

Not going to make a career out of it. Hmmmm.

Seriously, I have a lot of respect for anyone that retires out of the military.

The web site you posted is a real romper ripper. The letter home was hard to read with a dry eye.
