I'd like your opinion on what keyed damper to get for my 93 Procharged
Vette. Also who has the best price.
I just wish I would have known the stock one wasn't keyed because I would have changed it during the blower installation.
Also, is the Fluid damper brand all it's cracked up to be?
Thanks
Herb
Just take your hub off and bring it to a machine shop and have them key it. Alot cheaper and just as good. That's what most LT1 supercharged guys end up doing.
It's not as easy as just replacing the hub with a keyed one... The factory LT1 cranks have a "notched" key, so there is nothing sticking out of the crank where the keyway on the hub is. You need to pull the crank timing gear, remove the notched key, insert full key, put timing cover etc back on, and THEN put the keyed hub on...
BTW- Greg at blowerworks is getting a bunch of ATI 8 rib/6 rib blower crank pulleys in. Not sure how that would work with your blower but they work with vortech's...
