Default MOTEC engine management systems

Has anyone ever used one of these things. They look like there capable of doing some remarkeable stuff to your engines ability to run properly. I have heard of Ferrari/Lamborghini etc use these. But what can they do seems imeasureable. Are they an on the fly type system where your engine is being calibrated all the time to the "nth" degree?

They are top of the line, and amazing. Buit for race cars and rich people. They also have an amazingly high price tag also and take a very skilled tuner to tune them well. The Accel DFI or FAST systems are better suited for cars like our. I dont think they are the fly type tuning

If "on the fly tuning" means that they constantly adjust based on wide-band O2 measurements, then yes both systems would be in that classification. I like the FAST systems, but the new BS3 is quickly becoming my favorite.

A on the fly constantly adjsuting sysytem would be the SH**. Think about how well your car would run. Maybe thats why Ferrari , Mclaren etc etc can run 600 plus HP and pass emissions.

They're great, I used to program them at a speed shop.
Let's put it this way, IndyCars use them!

But for our car's you better off with a Haltech, you can piggy back them off the stock system so your dash will still work.

There are several 600hp + vettes here that pass emissions. I plan on being one of them with the help of Accell Gen 7 and forum member TJWong. The Accell system and Fast system have better tech support. Guy I used to know had the Motec on a twin turbo Ferrari Testarossa that was built up in Dallas at a place called Norwood Ferraris services. He was always have to mess with it. Maybe the systems have evolved since then.

I plan to go to a Big Stuff 3 controller next winter. For the features and the price no one can beat it. John Meany out did himself this time. $1900 bucks and it comes with two wideband O2's

I am not sure about FAST but Accel DFI has the worst tech support I have ever experienced.

I have called them over 20 times with install and tech questions regarding my gen VII. No one EVER picks up the phone and when you leave a message no matter how urgent, you will never get a call back....EVER.

I have yet to speak to one live person over in their tech support.
The only person that seems to get through is TJ. Even when Tom personally told the tech person to call, they never called and when I called back, no response. IT is a joke!

Thank GOD I have TJwong to answer my questions!

BTW: I have seen that Ferrari in turbo mag.
