Default OBDII, need some info....

Well I just recently installed some O2 sims in my car and reset the battery and everything is going well. I just got back from emissions and I didn't pass nor failed but I was told I need some miles on the car before I bring it in again. Since I disconnected the battery, I lost all my computer data. The car needs some miles until I can get a reading on my computer. Does anyone know how many miles?

I hope this didnt sound confusing...

Thanks.

btw- my car is a 96 camaro z28. z28=LT1

Default I was told the same thing.

I went to emissions in AZ and was told the same thing. Here is the deal for me. The ECM didn't know the catalist testing was complete. It never finished. The emission guys couldn't tell me how far I had to go either. I have been told it can be as much as 80 miles. I have also been told 800 miles.

Thanks man, just got some good a responce from my f-bodyhideout post. Check it out

"The computer needs to go through a drive cycle for the systems they check for emissions in your area.

Some systems take longer than others and certain driving conditions must be met.

Example: EGR system = 1. 3 minutes Steady State Cruise 55 & 60 Miles Per Hour.

2. Deceleration (Clutch Out) No Brake To Less Than 20 Miles Per Hour.

O2 Sensor = 1. Cold Start Engine Coolant Temp Less Than 50 Degrees Celsius, With Air Conditioning & Rear Defrost On, Idle 2.5 Minutes In Drive.
Before Proceeding Turn Accessories Off.

2. 3 Minutes Steady State Cruise 55 & 60 Miles Per Hour.

So if you want to complete the full drive cycle....

1. Cold Start Engine Coolant Temp Less Than 50 Degrees Celsius, With Air Conditioning & Rear Defrost On, Idle 2.5 Minutes In Drive.
Before Proceeding Turn Accessories Off.

2. Acceleration To 55 Miles Per Hour, 1/2 Throttle, Air Conditioning Off.

3. 3 Minutes Steady State Cruise 55 & 60 Miles Per Hour.

4. Deceleration To 20 Miles Per Hour (Clutch Out) No Brake.

5. Acceleration At 3/4 Throttle To 55-60 Miles Per Hour, Then Steady State Cruise For 5 Minutes.

6. Deceleration No Brake, End Of Cycle.

Thats straight from my Matco Determinator Scan Tool.

or you can just drive it a few days. lol"

I will try this tomorrow and hope it works... Will reply back

P.S. I drove 1400 miles and computer never reset
