Many times this can be caused by a build-up of carbon on the backside of the throttle body butter-flies. The carbon will cause the butterflies to stick.
You'll need to remove the TB and clean off the carbon. That could be all there is causing the problem.
no need to remove the tb, just spray carb cleaner in there till its clean....worked for me
Like always there's more than one way to do something. It's just some ways are better than others.
The best way is to remove the TB though, since none of the gunk you're removing will enter the plenum and perhaps effect the spark plugs and/or 02 sensor down-stream.
At the same time the TB is off, it's a good idea to remove the IAC and clean it too. If the butterflies and carboned, you can bet the IAC is too.
thanx for your help but what i mean my reset is that there is a button in the t/b of the C-4 vettes that resets the tv cable and you reset it by taking the throttle wide open while the car is off and there is a metal button either in the middle of the throttle lever or beside it. but when he reset it the throttle didn't stick anymore but the car runs like crap
Oh Oh!!! What you are describing is NOT the proper way to adjust the TV cable. First, the TV cable adjustment does not affect how the engine runs. Second, if the TV cable isn't adjusted correctly, the transmission can fail, QUICKLY. Your service manual has the adjustment procedure. If you don't have a manual, after you go HERE and order one, do a search. It has been explained many times, on here.
didn't think it could hurt anything because that is what GM told us to do. didn't find the procedure in the owners manual or any of the big manuals that supposidly have everything about 84-96 corvettes
we have about four or five service manuals for the car were would i be able to find the precedure for ajusting the tv cable the correct way. would it be listed under the tranny section? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Real easy ,Just push in the silver thing and feed the cable back twards the fire wall .
After that release silver button and get in the car and mash the gas to the floor and it's set.
