I've got a ground effects kit that marries to the fender, so I can't use that procedure to remove my battery.
I pop the hood and remove the mud shield by taking out, oh maybe 10 or so screws. I then unscrew the cruise control, three bolts.
Then the battery comes up and out. Just had to do it a few weeks ago when my battery wouldn't hold a charge. Still under 3 year warranty from WalMart.
I killed it though, by leaving the charger on too long on the 10 amp setting. I'd connected the charger while working on the car (painting it, etc.) so I could listen to the CD without killing the battery as I worked. Forgot to turn it off before lights out.
Saw this done on Horsepower TV. The show with the fat guy and the skinny guy that never lets the fat guy drive any of the good cars. Dream car garage I think.
Just remove the top screws and bend the fender down and slide battery out. What a bunch of hacks! Anyway they got it out fast and easy. It was just a racecar probably will get wrecked anyway.
