What year did GM start the roller block in the corvette?

Early 86 block had 1 pc rear seal and no roller provisions. I was told late 86 had roller provisions. Not sure though. 87 had them for sure.

I believe 87 too. Late 86 came with the first aluminum heads, and the 87 got them both; heads and roller.

87 is the first year for the roller block.

With Vader86, I've had my late 86 vert apart it's definatley not a roller lifter block.
