1990 Temp Gauge stuck
1. Is my gauge broken?
2. What other test can I run?
3. If it is my gauge is it easy to remove?
I am new to these electro cars.

It has a single green wire with a spade lug going to the sensor.
With the ignition on engine off, if you disconnect the green wire, the gage needle should be all the way to the left (Cold). If it doesn't the temp. gage is bad. If it dose the sensor is bad.
If you ground the green wire with the ignition in run (engine off), the temp. gage needle should move all of the way to the right (Hot). If it doesn't the gage is bad. If it does the sensor is bad.
I've never heard of anyone selling the temp. gage by itself.
You can get a used cluster for around $50 and up on E-bay.

The sensor you're talking about can only be read by using a scan tool, or a aftermarket software program.
I think you can also place the CCM (Central Computer Module) in diagnostic mode and push some buttons on the DIC. (Driver Information Center) which will display the Coolant Temp. the computer sees.
Did you have the ignition in run when you did your test? If it was, that indicates the gage is bad or a wiring problem. (not likely)
