Default Header issues...help please

I bought the LT EM headers with the extension pieces to go with my corsa exhaust and random cats. The headers fit nice but they are lapping the cats Now I'm in a bind.

I have 3 o2 sensors; one on each header and one on the cat on the passenger side. The easiest solution is to remove the cats but I'm not sure what not having that o2 sensor in the cat will do.

My question is have you guys from the group purchase come accross this? What should I do? Thanks

What year is the car? Shouldn't be a problem on anything but a 96.

You can run w/o cats just fine with a 94. The rear O2 doesn't look for cats or not. You can either discaonnect it or keep it w/o the cats. Either way it won't throw a code.

I haven't installed my EM's yet, decided to wait until next year. Will Emissions test with old setup and then install new, have the full 2 years before I ever have to Emission test the new set-up.

Would like to see the resolution to this. From what I've seen, your best option is to weld the cats right onto the header and have a shop custom fab the "extensions" from cat to cat-back. That is my plan. I thought the EM extensions were a bit over priced, as according to them you have to do some "cutting" anyway to make them fit.

It looks like the extensions are out by 3" on one side anyway.

Everything bolted up fine on mine - what do you mean by "they are lapping the cats"? I'm not familiar with the expression... Here are two pics of my EM --> RT cats --> Corsa. Hope it helps...

I slid my cats on over the header collectors, and clamped them. Also had Midas narrow the cat-back, and make connecting extensions with one o2 bung on the right side. Midas charged me around $130 for the alterations.

Sorry, I forgot, I thought you welded yours. My bad. You have the best idea going.
