air vent flow problem

air vent flow problem
I have a 95 coupe and the the air blows out the windshield defrost vent only no matter what a/c or heat mode i have it on. Can anyone give me any help in how to correct this. The only thing i have been told is to put a new air flow controller in.

Before you throw parts at it, verify the system is getting vacuum. Vac is supplied from the engine's intake manifold. Look under the covers for the small tubing and it's elbows. These are notorious for getting old dried out and brittle. Vacuum will leak away and not be strong enough to move the doors. (I believe the doors use vacuum to move them after being signaled electrically by the controller)
Not sure, but posssibly you could run the engine and listen for a "hissssss" sound near the intake/tubing. Visually check for hairline cracks hidden in bends and elbows.
