Quick question from a SC newb here... If you run the hose directly from the supercharger to the throttle body, can you plumb an alcohol/water injection setup right into the hose "elbow" immediately before the throttle body or does it have to be placed farther back in the intake tract?
Can someone explain in detail how alcohol/water injection works and what is needed? TIA!
Yes, the nozzle would be placed before the throttle body. There are a few kits out there. I use the Gaseous Injection plus system from Blowerworks www.carrollsupercharging.com his system may cost a little more but it is very complete... I'm sure others with other systems may chime in as well.
The system basically once you hit about 3 pounds of boost will start the pump to spray the water / alky .... methonal ... mix at about 100 psi. It cools the intake charge allowing you to run more timing and less fuel ( to a certain extent). This will significantly reduce your knock retard. You a benefit is you will increase you horsepower, and it takes less space than a traditional intercooler.
ztrips - what kit are you currently running? I was thinking about going with the Gen-IV Deluxe Gaseous Intercooling System.
Sorry for the delay, I was on vacation last week... I think Mo and I have the same system. It's just the basic Blowerworks kit, but don't let the "basic" basic part fool you, this is top of the line stuff. Give Greg a call and let him know what you're running, he'll point you in the right direction.
I've seen good things with akyinjection.com and snow performance.
Its nice when they vary pump speed vs. RPM or Boost.
I built a simple PWM controller when I messed with mine. I had one *** in the car to adjust the timing retard on the MSD box and anthor to control pump speed (0-200psi)
I took it off ultimately, I found I was tinkering with it too much instead of just having fun with the car.
Various Blowerworks kits such as the deluxe vary the pump as well. Yes it is easy to take the fun out of driving by the "tinkering" but once you have it setup... you can safely enjoy the fun!
Always heard great things about Greg's system. Just curious what are you using for your container for alky/water. How long does it last- how often refilling. Chad

I use the washer resevoir. It lasts for quite a while, depending on how hard you drive the car... I think Mo and I figured it out before. With a 15 GPH nozzle, you're looking at 2 minutes of full throttle or something rediculous like that...

No problem - must be nice to have a vacation! I was looking at the Gen-IV Deluxe Gaseous Intercooling system.
I was talking with Paul (zelement) and he's using the Snow Performance kit. It looks like a fairly well put together kit and it's about half the price of the Gen-IV.
Money is really not a concern when it comes to this stuff, I just mentioned it for comparison purposes.
You can also get opti-kleen from the GM dealer.... it is methanol, I mix it 50/50.
I'd love to have the deluxe system as well, I bought the "plus" sytem from Greg, you can upgrade to the full blown system...
The thingI love the best is greg's products are well thought through, I NEVER had to run to the hardware store for anything I have ever bought from him. If anything the kits even include parts for variations as well. The instalation instructions are very detailed and leave you with a full unerstanding of what and how things should work...

My 46 dollars...

Not having to run down the road for a hose clamp or zip tie is worth a lot... It's amazing how much easier it is to install a product that actually has ALL of the parts you need, all properly labed.
