Default center console hatch release button removal- please help

Hi,
I`m in the process of getting rid of all the wood dash pieces off my `96. Bought new center console plate (the piece that goes arround stick shift)
In order to install the new one i need to obviously unscrew all the fastners and i know where all are however, how can i remove the yellow button with the black ring arround it which is the hatch release button that mounts on top of the plate...please help me find out how to take it off.
Thanx guys

If it's like a 94 just pry up the button .With a second screw driver push in the sides of the button and it should pop right out .
The wires on the back side are real short and may become disconected.
If that happens you will have to use a long pair of needle nose pliers to reconect the wires or disconect the center glove box.
Under the felt in the glove box are 4 tork screws. You need to peal up the glued in felt to access the screws .
The screws are under the ovil plastic pieces under the felt.
