Default service engine light

First time for my 92 to turn on the service engine soon light. Came on last night while on cruise control on the freeway at 70mph. Got in this morning and it was off. Coming home on cruise at 70 and it came on again. Does this store the code or do I have to get a scanner while it's on?

Codes are stored, jumper pins a & b on your aldl plug then turn the key to run position and count the flashes of the service engine soon light. Codes will be flashed three times then the next code stored will flash code 12 is always present or should be if everything is working correctly. Example: Flash ...... Flash Flash is a code 12.

Default Intermittent code 32

Thanks! I jumpered the pins and got code 32. Since it comes on while cruising at 70 ans stays on until I turn it off and then is clear until the next time I'm at speed I assume it's the solenoid and not the EGR valve.

Hello, I'm new to these forums...registered to answer this question.
What the code 32 means is that the ECM has requested EGR but is not seeing the slight drop in MAP that tells it that the EGR valve opened. When the EGR request is no longer there the light will go away, or if the drop in vacuum is finally seen it will turn off the light.
Some possible causes:
Bad/stuck EGR valve
Plugged EGR passages/tubes
Bad MAP sensor
Vacuum leak in the MAP hose
