I was driving in my '94 last night and the doors locked by themselves, and I didn't think too much of it. Later that night, however it locked again, and then began to make noises from both doors that sounded like the solenoids were actuating over and over by themselves. The electric door lock switches were non-functional, but the noise would stop if you held it in the unlock position. After stopping, I used the key fob and deactivated the PKE and everything worked normal.
I have not turned it back on yet, and am leary to, as I am not sure if it may open itself in the parking lot. Any ideas or suggestions on what to check ? Any help is greatly appreciated.
BTW A few weeks earlier, I came out to the car after work and found the back hatch open, and the PKE turned off. Nothing was missing, and I assumed I had inadvertently hit the hatch button, or someone tried to use some sort of scanner (?) to get into the car, as I had heard of this happening before.
I am now fairly certain that this was in connection with the PKE acting up, so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know, as I don't think I would get lucky twice with the hatch open in a parking lot.
