My left blinker right sometimes comes on by itself, and is directly propotional to the amount of bumps I hit, so its clearly a grounding issue, but I just want to make sure im looking in the right place first. This circuit should be grounded near the front of the car next to the headlight assembly, correct? I just dont want to tear apart my dash if its not necessary, im sure youd agree thats no fun and possibly pointless. I just need a 2nd verification that im looking in the right place.
I have not had this problem (yet) but could it be a loose bulb? I know on some cars, when the bulb burns out or come loose, the signal light comes on inside the car.
One way to check that is to turn the signal on. If it flashes quickly, its the bulb. If it does not work at all, probably the ground.
Like I said, I have not had this problem before, and I am sure someone with more knowledge (experience) will jump in.

Have you cleaned these grounding points yet? Gotta get em shiney with sand paper or steel wool. then tighten good and coat ( to seal) the area with clear nail polish. If that gound is weak seems that the headlight should be a touch dimmer than the other...
Remove bulbs, clean sockets really good, install new bulbs. You could even coat sockets with an electrical paste if water intrusion is a problem. Do both front and back sockets.
The problem presents itself when the headlights are on. Its quite annoying to be driving in the dark, and your left blinker starts filckering Once in a while, it looks like the left fog light is out too, which seems to indicate that they are sharing the same poor grounding situation. Its really agitating, I keep thinking Im being a moron and leaving my blinker on.
thanks for your help, i'll be out there checking grounds around the headlight assembly - which I think is the right place to look.
