Remove the rear honey comb ("energy absorber") from the rear impact bar... I recently put some new stuff on the rear end, and I can't figure out how to get that honeycomb piece off the old metal bumper piece, to put on the new one... Is it held on by screws or rivets or what? Something with round heads, but they really don't look like rivets...
Those "rivets" you can see are plastic push pins, they slip into a hole then you push the center in and it spreads out inside the hole to hold the honeycomb in place. I have never had to take one out but since they're so far in the honeycomb I'll bet it's a PITA. When I removed my rear fascia for painting my honeycomb was missing the 4 middle push pins, this is how I know what they are.
Thanks for the help... I though they might be pushpins.
and your right... there far inside, and it's gonna be a major PITA.
The rear honeycomb doesn't way much at all... maybe 10 pounds? and that's probably guessing on the heavy side. The only problem is that it seems fragile... but i guess that's how they're built.
For the sake of archiving and making a little sense, please refrain from titling your threads with things like "How do I.." or "What if..." I shouldn't have to explain that, but it's not only unintuitive but it makes searching harder for when someone else might be having the same problem.
