wierd spark issue help needed
I've got a weird no start issue, which was sorta fixed today. It started out with some intermittent no start issues that became a total no start issue. Now, a little history, i put a new cap rotor and coil in within the last year. It seems as though something must have been loose somewhere as the no start was only intermittent. Fuel pressure is fine, 40+ psi, and holds well. So i decided to pull the cap, it didnt look just pristine since it's not all that old. Under the rotor, the yellow wire out of the pick-up was a little loose, but should be making connection. It tightened it, still no start. I decided to go ahead and grab a new cap and rotor, to see if that was the issue. Sure enough, it started right up. But now, its making a weird noise, like a sparking or arcing type noise. Nothing seems to be shorting, no codes have come up, but it still seems weird to me. Is this simply the result of a actual well working higher quality coil and cap? I have no clue how to trouble shoot this one. All i did was put a new cap and coil on. Now I have spark, but this ticking seems awful loud, louder than the injectors even.
