i want to get my car dynoed but the place i'm bringing it to is power surge performance. ford dynojet chassis dyno. what do i need to know? i read on this forum that a guy had his vette done on dynojet and it wasn't a good dyno???
Dynojet is the standard in dyno's, so I don't know who told you that. Now for tuning the dyno jet has limitations and only realy alws for WOT tuning where a mustang wil alow you to tune across the board but the Dyno-Jet Dyno is a great dyno
I just had mine done yesterday on a Dynojet (I think). My thread is on this page somewhere. The dyno itself was fine....but I was just a lttle confused by the low numbers. I got a lot of help here on what they actually mean, and that is why this forum is so great.
A dyno result is just an estimated HP/torque measurement at a given point in time, across the rpm range, on that particular machine. It seems very helpful if you are doing a tuneup or mod, and then measure results, on the exact same test station, afterwards.
I wanted to see what kind of power my '85 had in the engine..and found out a baseline at the wheels. I learned a lot in one day about my car and the dyno process.
