Looking for a set of headers for a 90 L98. I'd like to keep the main cat as it is and just do the ypipe setup to it like I have with my set of Tpis on my 89. I also want the headers with smog tubes and the O2 bung on them. What kind are you using (size and coated or uncoated) and what price did you pay?

I've been thinking about doing the same. I don't race, just want a bit more power, what about the Hedman's? I'll be watching this thread to see what the others have to say.
From: What did the 5 fingers say to the face? SLAP!!
I paid $500 for Hooker 2151's from Summit last summer. I think they may have gone up a little bit since then. I paid another $150 for their junk Y-pipe that doesn't line up correctly.

If you are interested in coated - check out Jet-Hot. They sell the hookers with their coating inside and out for reasonable prices.
I purchased the coated TPIS and was not real happy with their coating after a year of minimal use. Ended up having them recoated by jet-hot.

I know what you are thinking, "headmans are so inexpensive". They are a pain in the rear to change plugs if you have angle plugs. Cheaper is not better in this case.
My aftermarket heads have the wrong spark plug angle. I could barely get the plugs in with the stock shorties. TPIS headers made changing plugs easy. Seems like everyone has some sort of Y pipe issues. My 2 cents.
I don't think you can beat the TPiS headers. I bought the coated verson with the smog, ERG and O2 connections. They are first rate quality. In my area (small Texas Town) auto inspections consist of the inspector lifting the hood and satisfying himself that the factory asperation system is installed and that the car has a cat converter (if newer than 1974). So I can't testify about passing any great smog test, but I don't see how they would pose any negative variables.
