Default 9" wheel on C4???

Did any C4 have a 9" wheel? and if so, what's the widest tire you can put on it?

They had a 9.5"... and an 8.5"...

On a 9.5", the widest is 285, I think.

Nah, the widest for 9.5 is 295 and I've heard of 305-315

What about the 8.5" ??? How wide safely without too much sidewall bulge?

I wouldn't put a 315 on a 9.5

General rule of thumb is that tread width should match rim width.

Remember that the "285" or "315" is the section width, not the tread width.

For 9" wheels, I'd say 285 max.

For 8.5" wheels, 265 max.

I have 8.5" wheels with 275s on em, and that's really pushing it.

275 is max recommended by tire manufactures for a 9" wheel.
