Front Bushings revisited
My vert squeaks when it's below 50 degrees and I roll over a bump. I assume it's the front sway bar frame bushings -- because my Jeep's have the same issue.
Anyone agree/disagree? And/or could it be the upper end bushings on the sway bar? Will poly bushings end this forever?
I notice several sizes of frame bushing (22mm, 26mm, and 30mm) are available. Do I need to measure my sway bar or what comes stock on the base suspension of an '89?
Mine do the same thing when cold, after they are worked a couple times the squeak goes away. I just spray them periodically with some silicone lube and no squeaks until the lube disipates. Poly bushings (if dry) will squeak worse. WHen they are first installed, they are liberally coated with a sticky marine grease, when that disipates, it will squeak worse than a rubber bushing.
My '91 coupe came stock with 26mm front, 24mm rear. Just did poly's on mine and I like them. Used a liberal amount of the grease supplied by Energy Suspension and no squeaks so far.

I have a nasty creak in the front end when it's cold. I can duplicate it just by pushing the front of the car down.
I just put in all new bushings and lubed the hell out of them.
The squeak didn't go away.
One part I forgot to lube was the bottom of the spring pads, and the spring wedges. The spring ends slide in the lower control arms when it compresses.
