Right now, I am running a 383 stroker and its a pretty stout comb, but as everyone knows you can never have enough. So i am thinking of lowering the compression and putting a screw on it. I saw the post lower, but I would really like to use a whipple maybe like this http://whipplesuperchargers.com/product.asp?ProdID=1204. I really dont want to use a centrifugal and no one makes a good turbo kit.....SO what would you guys do in my cituation....

Why not a centrifugal? They are extremely reliable and consume low or no power at low revs, so are good for fuel economy. Check out Greg Carroll at www.carrollsupercharging.com, he makes some great kits.

BTW mines a 383 with forged pistons and 12lbs of boost through a Vortec - it rocks!!

You're gonna need custom everything if you do a screw blower. Not to mention you'll probably need a new hood too. If it's something you've got your heart set on, go for it. You might want to do your setup at a low psi, like 3. Make sure everything works, then redo the engine and swap on a bigger pulley and make some monster HP. No use redoing the enigine THEN finding out that the setup won't fit.

To my knowledge, There is no whipple or magnacharger for the LT1's I beleive they are for the vortech truck engines . I love my Vortech... as posted above, check out Greg he makes top notch systems! You will not be sorry! Trust me what you try to save on one end , you pay on the other...

Unless you're going with a solid 4 link rear axle and slicks you might want to rethink the centrifugal. If your car's running a 383 and you have decent gearing you'll just end up eating through tires like the '03/04 cobra guys complain of. There's really no pro or con to a centrifugal if the car is matched to handle it the HP and torque through the revs.
