How are you checking this? With the ECM controlling the centrifugal and vacuum advance curves, there is virtually no way to check this with a timing light, as you cannot duplicate WOT conditions in the driveway. If you are using a scanner, 36*, all in by 3000 rpms, at WOT, is right about where you want to be.
