I purchased a new remote , to replace the one, that did not come with the car. I have a 94 vert. Following instructions I tried to program it. The lite in the DIC , did not come on. I then went through all the threads on the forum, no luck . I then when thru the service manuals. I must really be a kluz, but I still could not identify the problem. I used the vom meter to check the three fuses, #26, #40 & #42 , all appeared to be okay. I have been working on this problem for about a year now , and am about ready to give up. I think this is a good feature and would like to see it work. .....any body have any ideas. thanx.
It's a low probability, but have you verified that the fob you purchased is functioning correctly? Even though you mentioned that it's a new remote, you might want to try it out on a vette with a known working PKE.
Anyway, I had the same problem with my newly '94 coupe when I bought it in '02. The PKE receiver was dead and was a pain in the A$$ to replace, but it solved the problem.

Only because it is April 1,2005. I believe the proper spelling is KLUTZ.
On the issue of the remote for PKE, I had a similar issue. Mine turned out to be dirty connetor on the PKE receiver. I used a shop vac to clean out the dust and applied a small ammount of terminal cleaner. I aired it off aggain and all started to work when reassembled. Maybe I just got lucky.
