VIN on frame? Where?

VIN on frame? Where?
(I tried in General, but no luck.)
Where on the frame is the VIN stamped (at the factory)?
I know it is on top of the frame at the left rear wheel.
But where else is it stamped on the frame 1984-96?

On my 87 the last 8 digits (IIRC) of theVIN are stamped on the forward facing part of the frame rail directly in front of the battery. You have to remove the rear half of the fender panel to see it. The numbers are just below the top of the seam.
