Ok I have a (as far as I know) stock 89. I am trying to start slow on the moding so I am going to swap the plugs and wires. I have had good luck with NGKs in my Fords but am not sure about the 350. So what plugs and wires have the best sucess in C4s?

There seems to be a lot of people who like Delco and Bosch. This has been a widely discussed topic with several good responses. You may want to use the search feature as you will find some interesting thoughts on this topic.
Im not picky on plugs, but MSD makes 8.5 mm wires that fit nice, (i drilled out the looms to 8.5) and they come in red or black. The black almost looks stock. Very heat resistant. Thats important if you have headers.
Delco Rapidfire here. Make sure you get the thin electrode version. I was told there were different types through the years. Idles at 900 and is as smooth as you can get (Turq '91).

I've had the MSDs on for over 20K miles with stock manifolds and two different kinds of long tubes with no problems. When new they can be a little difficult to get the boots seated but after some use, they go on pretty easily. As far as plugs go, I use the standard NGKs. I'm not a big believer in expensive plugs for this car as I would prefer to renew them regularly. I did however have good luck with some Autolite double platinums on my Nissan sedan. After 65K miles they still looked new and were still gapped on spec. There was no problem with the platinum "pucks" coming off as I've heard about with the Bosch and even the AC platinums. So if this is something you don't want to do often, that is the platinum plug I would recommend. For years, I never used anything but Autolites in my cars. They've always been an excellent plug.

When I first got my 86, I did the same thing starting with easy mods like wires and plugs and BELIEVE me, the Rapidfires work the best..I have tried all those other plugs with the fancy prongs and split diodes but for my 2 cents, Delco is the way to go...
I've run Bosch Platinums (single prong) for years and have no complaints. Last week I ordered some Taylor Spiro Pro wires to replace the stock ones. Nice red ones!
