Default HELP QUICK! Problems installing MSD HEI Distributor Upgrade

Title says it all, here are some pics of the difference of the 2.

New piece next to old piece...

The connections don't line up right, and there are more on the factory than the MSD setup. I have no idea what to do...

Here is the link to the MSD HEI Distributor Upgrade

I believe I have this right. If you check out the type of module on the summit site, you will notice that it is for a FOUR pin GM HEI setup. You, on the other hand have a computer controlled SEVEN pin setup on the Vette. The two are not compatable from what I can gather. I am unsure if MSD has an upgrade module for a 7 pin. I have a copy of the MSD Wiring Diagram book and it shows a hook-up for an MSD 6 series ignition to a 7 pin module, but nothing is said about a 7 pin upgrade for the Vette type of computer controlled distributor. From all I can see, this won't work on your Vette.

Contact Jim at www.jimsperformance.com

He might be able to clue you in. He fixed me up when i bought an MSD billet distributer and needed some adapters.

After closely looking at the link you can see that it says the upgrade is for "1967-2000 5.7, Not Computer Controlled." But when I searched for it, it showed that it fit my car. Oh well, I ended up using the HEI coil and rotor from it, the cap and module cannot be used however. My mistake for not reading the fine print.
