tach cuts out ....??
why is the tach not working when accelerating @ wot?
show s 1700 rpm @ shifts points( engine definately turning more then that).. BTW trany is flawless....L98 89

for those that have "bad" or "wacky" tach reading, here's a fix that you can build,
X=distributor connector
y=splice in (other end)
R1=5.6k 1/2 watt
R2=10k 1/2 watt
C1=.01mfd 100v
C2=100pf 100v
assemble components in this way
X----R1--*---R2--*---y
C1 C2
-- GRD --
arrange resistors R1 & R2 in series, connect C1 & C2 in parrallel (@ *)with neg(-) to a metal cylinder ( GRD-3/4" tube about 1 1/4" in long). install x & y (wire 14ga white)about 6-8 inch long out of each end. use plastic expoy to seal each end. remove OEM and splice existing connectors to new unit . . this is equivalent to stock tack filter.
this fix should cure wacky tachs

Have you changed our coil lately?
Mine did the same thing last year when I installed an Accel Brute thunder coil. ( I had the right version red/white wires and not red/yellow)
When I replaced the coil, the problem went away.
