c4 short throw shifter question ???
hey guys, due to recent shoulder surgery i am stuck with pain for the rest of my life in my shifting arm. sadly after a ride around the block i am nearly in tears from it. i have heard about short throw shifter kits and wondered if someone can recommend the best one for me or give me some opinions so i know what is a good one or not, there are a few b&m kits on ebay, anyone have experience with these. i do not want to get rid of my vette but it hurts me too bad to shift and i refuse to own a sports car in an automatic. i want my pleasurable driving experience back. thanks.

I just bought a Hurst shifter on Ebay for $108.00. I will be installing it in the first week of May. Everything I've read and responses on CF say that B&M is a shorter throw, but takes some practice and effort. The Hurst is shorter than stock and reportedly real smooth. I have driven a Hurst in a 2000 Camaro SS and it was real smooth. There is opinion both ways--

I have a B&M in my 92 and honestly it cuts the throw down till your hand only moves about3-4 inches per shift.... but it at least doubles the effort you use to shift..... From what Ive heard the Hurst doesnt take quite as much effort and still effectivly shortens the throw..But I still love my Ripper 
If shifting pains you, the Hurst would prbly be your best choice
