Default A/C vacumme controller

A/C vacumme controller:
my A/C was blowing out the top defroster vents.
so I made my self into a pretzel, somehow got the vacumme controller out, and now I need a little nut to go on the stud.

anyone know what size nut that takes?

I don't see anyother way to get that vacumme connector back on tight.
at least I think that is the problem like everyone elses car.

Default Check vacuum check valve also....

... I had that problem with air only blowing out of top vents but the problem turned out to be the plastic check valve under the passenger side fuel rail was brittle and broke. This also caused the cruise control to not work. A $5.00 / 5 minute fix. I have a LT1... maybe not the same.

I just pulled the vacuum controller on my 88 for a similar problem. It would only blow for A/C and no heat. It has the C68 automatic climate option. I just sketched were the hoses went and pulled the hoses. It actually just used a spring metal washer that would push on and retain tension. Here is a link about the C68 option. I hope it helps. http://www.batee.com/corvette/acrepa...oard/c68.shtml

mine is a 96, and I already tried that plastic thingy by the valve cover.
the 96 is usually the vaccume connector above the gas pedal.

I'm guess I have this same problem. My Air blows cold but only from the defrost vents and the floor. Did this fix that problem? If so what am I looking for and how easy is it to replace?

Looking at the forum it looks like this is a pretty common problem, but I have still not fixed mine.... but would certainly like to.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Thanks for that drawing Teyota, but the 96 is a bit different.

Guys see my thread here...

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...94&forum_id=48

I aim to get to the bottom of this even if it kills my back. I'm starting to wonder if the solenoid drivers are getting leaky. I can hear them "click" when I select different vents but it seems to just want to divert back to defrost for some reason.
