Ok- So what did I do???

Default Ok- So what did I do???

I was attempting to set base idle by putting car in test mode, turning key on with a jumper to A&B. But what I actually did is jumper E&F. Within 5 seconds I realized what I'd done- (car fans didn't come on.) I told myself "what a dumb azz you are! SOOOOOO- what did I screw up or not screw up??? Car appears to work okay. It's not my week for sure! I suppose I'm the only one who has ever done this??

What year is it? My 90 manual doesn't show an E. The spot that you might call E is empty- no problem?

year is e86. Connector pins count from left to right. a thru f on top row.

"E" is blank on my car. "F" is the TCC. I can't imagine you've hurt anything. Why would you want the car in the "field service mode" to set the timing?

I think from the original post I stated that I was trying to set base idle (tps and iac- per your instructions from past postings), not timing. I did look up the wiring diagram in my Helms- it appears I didn't damage anything - There is a pin and wire in position E on an eary 86 coupe. I found it interesting that my autoxray has to be set up as an 85 to scan properly.

Pin E is the serial data..since the ECM wasn't in ALDL mode you shouldn't have hurt a thing.
