Default LT1 Knock Sensor Dexcool Exposure

Well, I am almost done doing the Water Pump, Opti, Plugs, Wires, etc so I pull the 2 Knock sensors to drain the block and SPLASH!!! I dropped one in the drain pan of Dexcool & water. I pulled it out, dried it out and sprayed contact cleaner in the connector.

The question is should I replace it or will it be okay?

I noticed the electrical connector is not weathertight like many of the other connectors.

They should be okay, cleaned well. I don't remember noticing that these connectors aren't sealed. Are you sure the silicone seal isn't missing from the connector or something?

No seal on either one, just a white hood that snaps over the end of the sensor. It may well have another type of seal, just not the typical blue, yellow or pink that GM uses topside.

Based on your reply I will reuse the sensor. Thanks!

I believe that they switched over to Dexcool in '95.

Gotcha, mine's a 93 so that makes sense. I replaced lower intake manifold gaskets in my brother's 2001 pontiac grand am because they were eaten by coolant. I have no love for dexcool at the moment.
