R-12, GM did not go to R-134a until 94. Except Caddies changed in 92 or 93. But check it 1st, alot of people have converted there's to R-134. There is a website that tells you how to tell the difference, I don't remember the web address, but do a search on Google and you should find it. It was put up by some A/C association. Hope this helps.
R-12 at the factory...
If it was converted the fittings would (well should have by law) been converted to R134a fittings.
I think I have those fitting specs at home. If you don't have an answer by then, I willl check when I get home tonight.
OK, found it...
The r-12 fittings on your car are threaded both on the high and low pressure sides of the system.
According to EPA regulations if your car was converted to R134a, you vehicle fittings should have been converted. The R134a fittings an not threaded but of a quick connect type with an outside diameter (OD) of 16mm on the high pressure side and 13mm OD on the low pressure side.
