I'm a stutterer
My 89 has a problem with the engine stuttering at 2400 rpm. It stutters in any gear only at 2400. If I accelerate hard through 2400 there is no problem. It also seems to stutter a bit at lower rpm's at very slow speeds. The ECM and MAF were recently replaced due to a problem with the motor shutting off while driving. I thought the problem was cured but the motor still doesn't feel right. Help.

I wonder if it's the throttle position sensor?
Another thought is the torque converter or a problem in the transmission (think governor). I would pour a bottle of Transmedic into it and then have the tranny power flushed.

Hey ! Does it do it all the time or does it happen after driving about 8 miles ? Reason I'm asking is my vette does the same thing . One thread awhile back said his was caused by a vacumn leak . Another person said his was caused by the oil tempature sender ! I don't know how , but who knows ! Let me know if you find the problem and I will do the same !
