Default HARD miss, help needed.

Went out tonight to start the vette, and it started up with a HARD miss - present @ all RPM's. If i goose the throttle, you can hear a roar through the air cleaner - i touched all the injectors, I don't have a dead injector problem - wiggled all the spark plug wires both @ the cap and the block, no difference. I didn't actually pull the plug wires because all of my tools are @ work. What's the deal with hearing a noise through the intake? I don't have a valvetrain problem do I?

I usually use an temp gun to read each header tube. A windex bottle with water will help. Spray each header tube and listen for the sizzle. The tube that does not sizzle very much is usually the dead hole. You can troubleshoot from there.

Pull each plug wire and measure the resistance. It should be close to 5000 ohms per foot and wiggle each end to see if the resistance is stable and not intermittent. If ok, then at night, engine idling, look for sparks to ground along each plug wire. Check for plug wires that are touching metal, the wire looms prevent this. Plug wires have microscopic pin holes in them and will arc to ground, so wires should not be touching grounded metal.
