Default Knock sensor question

if the knock sensor was faulty while the car was on or driving. what would this do to the timing. Reason i ask this is because i've drivin about 30 miles on it since rebuild and it just doesnt seem right, the response just doesnt seem right. would it throw the timing out of phase or do nothing at all?

If it is "broken" it should set a code when the ECM does the test on the ESC system. If it is the wrong sensor it may or may not set the code.
Scanner time...see if it is advancing the timing or not.

I disconnected my knock sensor, years ago. No codes. No problems. If yours is a 91 like in your screen name, I would think you'd get a code. Otherwise, if the knock sensor isn't working, the engine is free to knock. If the sensor picks up signals, real or false, the ESC will retard the timing which will hurt power.

RACE ON!!!
