Default Stalling issue with 91...

My 1991 has devolped a stalling issue. When I roll up to lights, or stop signs the engine will sometimes die. If I re-start the car, it will sit and idle forvever with no problems. When it is about to die at at a light, I can save it by pressing the gas. However, I have to keep my foot on the throttle and hold it open at about 5% to keep it from stalling.

To me it almost acted like it had a vacuum leak, but that's been checked out and is not the problem. I just did headers and removed the O2 sensor. I didn't think I touched the sensor, but maybe it got contaminated somehow. I also recently installed a Mallory Hyfire ignition. I don't think the ignition is the problem, the car ran fine for about 2 weeks after the igntion install.

Thoughts?

First, I'd remove and clean the IAC and all the IAC passages in the TB. Then make sure the minimum air adjustment and the TPS are properly set.

RACE ON!!!

sounds like fuel starvation to me ==> FP, Clogged/restrictive filter.

Another thought is your EGR valve is sticking open, giving you that vacuum leak kinda' feel...

When I installed the headers a couple weeks ago I deleted the EGR system. I'll have to look at my home made block of plate to see if it's leaking a little. Thansk for the tips guys!
