Does this setup warrant a stall?
Currently I have a stock stall sitting in front of my Th-350. My setup is as follows.
1966 GMC 3/4 TON weighting at about 3900lbs.
Th-350 - 4.10 positraction rear end. 29inch tires.
350 with an 86 TPI.
Trickflow 195 Heads, Big mouth manifold. Cam is a 224/224 - .52/.52 - 112LSA.
Near future upgrades include a 75-100 shot of nitrous, and as such I have been looking at Torque converters that feature an anti-balloning plate. Might not be warranted for a conservative shot of nitrous, but Id rather err on the side of safety.
This vehicle is my daily driver and weekend warrior. I am wondering what a good moderate stall would be, if any. I eventually plan to get an overdrive of some sort (possibly via an underdrive/overdrive unit) or simply go to 3.73 gears if I find that I could be getting better 1/4 times by not running out of RPM's so fast. That an it would certainly help highway driving (though that is done rarely).
Thanks for any opinions and advice. Let me know if there is any information I forgot to include.
