I have a custom engine built for my 86' and it just over heated on me. i checked the fluid and the thermostat and they where full and in good condition. The water pump is brand new also. what could be the problem?
Please some one repsond i need to get it running! thanks for your help
i started driving the car and the tempature looked fine. as i was driving i looked and the tempature was extremely high in less than 5 minutes of driving. bringing the car up to speed did not make the temp go down. the tempature reached 280 degrees! i pulled over and popped the hood....the radiator was not hot, nor was any smoke or steam comming out of anywhere. everything looked fine. i figured it was a censor reading wrong. i only drove a couple more miles and got home. my radiator started leaking badly once i stopped(there where no leaks prior to driving).(i obviously made a mistake driving it 2 more miles). The engine ran perfect the whole time. i dont know if the fans came on.
i will look at the temp censor on the head but as far as looking in the rad-cap. there is a hole in the radiator from it over heating so big it just flows out as fast as i pour it in. the only place i see coolant dripping out is at the radiator...no leaks on the engine what so ever thank god. im calling the engine builder tommorow to have him come get the car.
